Fan Submitted Question: First off, I want to say that I ADORE your website! I’ve just started reading about using crystals for healing and your website is my favorite :).

I’m not completely confident about programming my new crystals, which I first need to cleanse (I plan to use sage smoke). I want to make crystal prescriptions for fibromyalgia, depression and positive thinking. Do I need to use every crystal that’s recommended (on your website) for each prescription? When using more than one for one prescription, do I program each individually or hold them all in my hands at once? Should I keep the individual prescriptions in individual bags? Or keep them all together?

I hope I’m not asking too much at once as I am a newbie!

Can you recommend your most favorite books that are essential?

Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom on your beautiful website! I’m glad I found it 🙂

Answer: For starters, do not get too worried or wrapped up in programming. Your intention and intuition are the most important things with is comes to working with crystals. I personally just let my crystals do what they are going to do. I know it will be the right thing that I need. When I program a crystal I keep it simple. I hold my crystal in my left hand and say, “I ask that this crystal to assist me with healing on all levels for my highest good.” With this method you can program multiple crystals at once easily. I have additional information about programming your crystal here.

As for your crystal prescriptions, no you do not need to use every crystal that I recommend. I offer multiple suggestions so that you can pick the one(s) that you are most drawn to. For example, with depression I have found Smoky Quartz to be helpful as well as Amethyst and Lepidolite. However, someone else might find Sunstone or Kunzite better. Use your intuition and pick the ones that feel right for you. As for how to carry them, you do what feels right for you. You can keep them together. That is ok! You can carry them in your pocket, wear them as jewelry, or both at the same time. You may find that wearing a pendant of your favorite crystal near the Heart chakra helps quite a lot. My article “How to Work with Crystals for Healing” will offer even more suggestions on working with your crystals.

My absolute favorite book is the “The Crystal Bible” by Judy Hall. There are 3 volumes. Each one is different with different crystals listed. Start with the 1st one since it will contain the most common crystals. Remember how I mentioned that with crystals you will find varying information? Another good book that offers different information from The Crystal Bible is “The Book of Stones” by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian. Both books have beautiful photos and wonderful information. These are the 2 books that I personally use the most. I have them in both physical book form and kindle! 🙂

Since you mentioned that you’re a newbie, I highly recommend that you check out my article “New to Crystals and Not Sure Where to Start” for even more information to help you get started.

I hope this helps answer your questions. Have fun picking out your crystals for your very own personal crystal set!
